Sample-specific normalization

Hi there. In my Metabolomic studies, weight of samples is an important feature to be considered. How can I include this information in sample-specific normalization? Is it only to describe the weight of each sample? What formula sample-specific normalization uses?

This is simply by dividing all concentration values in the sample based on its weight. Default weight is 1.0 (the unit does not matter, as long as they are the same)

  • You can use “sample-specific normalization” and manually enter the weight for each sample; Or
  • Include the “weight” as a feature in the concentration table. You can choose “normalize by a specific feature”, and then choose “weight” from the drop-down.
