Hello everyone,
I’m experiencing some confusion with the results from my multi-factor analysis. In my dataset, there’s a notable increase in the Escherichia-Shigella genus when comparing the initial inoculum to the control group. Specifically, the genus ranges from 0.009% to 0.04% in the initial inoculum, but jumps to 10% to 31% of the entire sample in the control group. However, this isn’t showing up as a significant microorganism in the analysis. Can anyone explain why this might be the case?
Additionally, I’ve noticed an odd discrepancy: when comparing FI vs. CONTROL, there are no significant microorganisms appearing, while comparing CONTROL vs. FI yields 41 significant microorganisms. I don’t understand why there’s such a huge difference. Could someone shed some light on this?
For context, my data is presented as relative abundances and has been normalized by the mean number of 16S rRNA copies.
Thank you in advance for your help!
