What is the network building process when I upload microbial taxon data?

To integrate microbial taxa into the molecular interaction knowledge framework, OmicsNet uses metabolic potential scores derived from >6000 genome-scale metabolic models (GEMs) to predict metabolites to create a taxon-metabolite network. These metabolites will serve as entry points to connect with the molecular interaction network in the host. An example network is shown below.

In the network, yellow nodes represent metabolites with edges link to microbes that are predicted to produce / metabolize them. By clicking on a node, you can see the corresponding microbial taxa and their potential scores. You can also obtain a heatmap overview of microbial metabolic potential by clicking on icon located in the vertical toolbar.
