GEMs, which stands for Genome-scale metabolic models, is the computational models that represent the metabolic capabilities of an organism, encompassing the entire set of metabolic reactions taking place within an organism. It can be use to predict metabolite requirements and production for a given microbe, as well as to understand its interactions with a host and within microbial communities.
