LEfSe analysis

Hello!

When microbiome analysis was performed, there were differences between groups in relative abundance and LEfSe analysis results.

For example, when comparing the microbiome of groups A and B, bacteria called C accounted for 10% in group A and 15% in group B.
However, as a result of LEfSe analysis, the value of C bacteria was measured higher in group A than in group B.

Does this happen often?

Hello, LEfSe analysis is used to suggest the taxa that most likely to explain differences between the groups.
The boxplot showed in result table (Feature detail view) compare the absolute abundance of that taxa between two groups. In your case, if Group A is overall much more abundant than Group B, bacteria C in group A can still be more abundant than in group B.

Hope this helps.
