Not_Assigned category contains features that have NA at that particular level. For instance if you’re looking at the Species level, but 30% of features do not have a Species rank, these will be lumped together as Not_Assigned.
Due to this issue, performing taxonomy binning at different levels may create scenarios such as the number at species level is less than the number at family level!
