What is a force-directed module layout?

It is a variant of standard force directed 2D network layout in 3D space, by adding two distinctive features:

  • Nodes from the same communities are more tightly clustered together;
  • Communities are bounded by translucent spheres (bubbles) with unique colors to be visually distinctive

Users can double-click an individual “bubble” to select / highlight the corresponding module and put it into the view focus (i.e. to perform enrichment analysis on a community/module)
